LAURA LASSY TOWNSEND is a New York based actor originally from Paris, France. Credits include the National Opera of Paris, the Venice Film Festival, La MaMa ETC, Classic Stage Company, The Rattlestick Theatre, Mabou Mines, The New Ohio and Target Margin Theater. Laura was recently seen in the critically acclaimed new play The Workshop at HB Playwrights Theater (NY Times Critic’s Pick) and in The Maids at La MaMa ETC. She was formerly a Teaching Artist at Classic Stage Company as well as at FIAF. Laura is the co-founder of L’Atelier Théâtre NY, where she teaches drama in French.  Previously at L’Atelier Theatre NY, Laura directed Moliere’s Le Malade Imaginaire, Feydeau’s La Dame de chez Maxim and Ionesco’s Rhinocéros. This year she is directing Chekhov’s On the High Road. Laura holds an MSc in Business from HEC Paris and an MFA in Acting from Columbia University.
